Strengthen ND works all across rural North Dakota to support individuals, organizations, and communities to make our area a better place for everyone to live and work. Two examples of our work to advance regional issues are supporting North Dakota Local Food Development Alliance and North Dakota Change Network.
Local producers, organizations, and service providers in North Dakota have organized to establish the North Dakota Local Food Development Alliance (NDLFDA) to design and implement a local foods development plan to achieve the vision of a vibrant, prosperous local food sector. By focusing on supporting producers, financing and resources, aggregation and processing, distribution and marketing, food charter/policy support, and Native American food sovereignty, NDLFDA is working to organize a diverse group of stakeholders to support the growth of the sector. Currently, Strengthen ND is providing leadership and administrative support so the alliance can get up and running more quickly.
Strengthen ND provides North Dakota-specific expertise and boots-on-the-ground support to North Dakota Change Network. North Dakota Change Network is a year-long program that will help you build the techniques and networks you need to make the places you live and work more inclusive. Learning is accomplished through a combination of online courses, exchange activities and three in-person convenings. Through this challenging and supportive environment, you will enhance your self-awareness, leadership skills and abilities to implement systems change.
North Dakotans who see opportunities to make change in their community are encouraged to apply for the Change Network program by May 31st, 2019. Visit North Dakota Change Network at www.artstrategies.org/north-dakota to learn more and fill out an application.
